MMA fans were in an uproar in the month of December. This is because Dana White has finally announced the long awaited rematch between Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort, reviving a famous duel that took place in 1998 at UFC 17.5. On occasion, Belfort knockedout Wand impressively and reaffirmed his nickname of "Phenomenon". After years of waiting, the rematch was marked with a special spice: before face each other, the fighters will handle two teams in the first Brazilian edition of the reality show "The Ultimate Fighter." The long-awaited showdown will take place at the end of the first half of 2012, probably in a soccer stadium for an audience that shall break the box office record in the UFC.
UFC Rio 2: Jose Aldo leads the Brazilian team
Thanks to the success of UFC 134 Dana White tried to make a new Brazilian edition for the show, and 14th January is the date on which Jose Aldo will defend his belt for the first time in Brazil. The featherweight champion will face Chad Mendes, one of the toughest opponents in his class. At the same night, Vitor Belfort takes the octagon to face the dangerous Anthony Johnson.
