UFC promised to land in Brazil's financial capital this year, but it look like being difficult to find a place to host the Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva duel, besides the expected rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. According to Eduardo Ohata, journalist of Folha de São Paulo newspaper, the Pacaembu, soccer stadium speculated to host the event, was officially dismissed on Friday, and the reason was an injunction obtained by the local neighborhood residents, who claimed that the event would exceed the time allowed, since it would end after 1:00am.
"The organization "Viva Pacaembu" succeeded to get in Justice a ruling ensuring that the events at the stadium finish until midnight and reach a maximum of 45 decibels. To give you an idea, I measured 60 decibels inside the mayor's office", told the secretary of sports, Bebeto Haddad.
Haddad tried to argue with the mayor, Gilberto Kassab, but was told not to appeal, because wouldn't be good to Pacaembu, which is a public space, to go against a court decision.
With Pacaembu veto, the Morumbi stadium back to be considered for hosting the final of The Ultimate Fighter, the duels of his coaches and the UFC middleweight belt dispute.
