Belfort: “Before Anderson, I will fight for an interim belt”

After Anderson´s manager, Jorge Guimarães, confirm to Tatame that his fighter must face Vitor Belfort for the middleweight belt, Belfort confirmed to Portal do Vale-Tudo that He must fight the Champion in April, but before face him He must face another opponent in February.

“I´m waiting Lorenzo´s call. Tonight He is suppose to tell me Who is going to be my next opponent. The UFC want me to fight for an interim belt in UFC 109 in February. In April I would fight against Anderson for the definitive belt”, said Belfort.

When we asked him about the rumors that Nate Marquart would be his possible opponent, Belfort said: “I’m like a betrayed man, the last one to know... but if the choose Nate it will be a great fight. He is great fighter, dangerous and pretty much skilled. I’ll start to study his tapes anyway”.   

While the promoters doesn’t decide Who Will be his next opponent, Vitor is taking very good care of his cardio and also sparring with his Karate teachers Vinicius Antony and Jayme Sandall. “Around December 15 I must go to Las Vegas where I must finish my trainment, Just like I did in the fight against Rich Franklin”.
